Denmark 2026 Miracles
Compiled by Ellie.
- Plane delayed in COS, but super helpful Delta Reps arranged a backup flights if needed.
- Made it to Amsterdam and connected to the original flight at the last possible minute, thanks to Bruce and ET running to the gate and the rest of us catching a ride on the slowest cart in the airport.
- Given flight uncertainties, all of our luggage arrived!
- Found the right bus stop and got off at the right stop right by our hotel.
- Lonstrup: Cool temperatures and cloudy morning. Found a trail around the huge sand dune and still saw the lighthouse.
- The gruff, but loveable restaurant owner gave us free nuts, even though a woman at the bar said no, while we waited hungrily for the restaurant to serve dinner.
- Halstrup: Visualized ice cream shop and it just opened as we arrived for a break. Shade for lunch. A man was walking on the trail that helped us find the trail. We all made it to the hotel and the restaurant was not too far away.
- People fell but no broken bones!
- Tversted: Perfect temperature with wind. Hiking in the forest and finding a shortcut.
- Great beer birthday for Bruce. Bruce and ET had energy to go out and get things for happy hour when the rest of us were exhausted.
- Hulsig: Great weather for a long day! Bruce almost lost hat in the old barn but remembered at the last minute.
- ET and Kimberlee found Ellie’s pole section that had fallen off while hiking. The campstore along the trail had Magnums!
- There was a shortcut that kept us from going over the huge, moving dune. No one fell off the narrow and high dune.
- Everyone made it to the hotel in spite of pain and discomfort.
- Hotel Inger provided the best hospitality of the trip when they made an exception and cooked us a yummy dinner even though it was Sunday and a night they were usually closed.
- Skagen: Laura and Kimberlee were able to get a ride in the car from the hotel owner and rest their bodies.
- Shorter day and latte stop before the last 2 miles. Clouds came in to give shade for walking on the beach.
- Cheryl found a tick and was able to remove it fairly easily. Her tick made everyone else aware to watch for ticks and remove them.
- The man from the hotel took special interest in making sure we had a taxi to Stockholm. The taxi driver who arrived spoke great English.
- Lovely lounge in Aalborg. The amazing taxi driver in Stockholm was careful, fast and cheap in spite of tons of traffic.
- Two fun days in Stockholm where we were able to walk without pouring rain.
